The CES (Consumer Electronic Show) in Las Vegas is the technology-related trade show held each January in Las Vegas, Nevada. Not open to the public, the show typically hosts previews of products and new product announcements. Some view it as an annual pilgrimage to spot products before they take off. Products such as the VCR, Plasma Televisions, and countless others are debuted at CES over the years.
At the CES takes place the the Silvers Summit, a full day program that showcases the products and services that keep boomers engaged, entertained, connected and healthy. It assembles companies, distributors, journalists, research firms, think tanks, to demonstrate the products and services that will help mature consumers maintain their high quality of life.
The Conference takes place on Jan 8, 2011, and features panels, presentations, and interactive demonstrations on products and services ranging from a unified health care format to home security, aging with technology and more. With a power breakfast, a networking lunch, and in-depth panels sessions.
As reported last year, the highlights of the 2010 version of the show were 3D technology, tablet PCs and e-book readers, it also had the Silvers Summit, a full day program on Saturday, January 9; it showcased the products and services that keep boomers engaged, entertained, connected and healthy. This year’s was the second edition of this particular show that targets seniors. It was both awaited and very well attended: “When you have a growing market segment, everybody wants a piece of the action,” said Majd Alwan, director of the Center for Aging Services Technologies.
